My Spiritual Journey

First, when I was young I was a Baptist.  My mom would say, "Even though I don't go to church, you have to so you won't burn in hell."  Then when I was a teenager, I became an atheist.  I hated the church since I was insulted by a pastor. Then as a man I became an agnostic.  Then I discovered Buddhism and I was enlightened.  In my old age, I have returned to the church.  I believe in a merciful God and donnot believe in hell.  I am free at last.

O Sweet Terry

You came into my life quietly
and took me by storm.
I am so into you.
It has been a long time coming.
I love you.

Zumba verses Water Aerobics

I can't imagine that I would love the floor aerobics class called Zumba as much as I do water aerobics, but I'm going to give it a try tomorrow evening. At 63 you have to do everything right to stay on top of your health and that is what I am trying to do. If you have a problem with weight or joint pain, I highly recommend water aerobics since you burn three or four times the calories you do moving on dry land and the impact of vigorous exercise is greatly reduced. Like I said I can't imagine giving up water aerobics for Zumba, but it might make a nice once a week change of pace.

Dancing

I went dancing Friday night at a place called Kumba. I was a Tejano place and the music was very loud. But I loved the music and danced like a whirling dervish. My friend and I then went had a late night meal at IHOP. It was a very good night. Saturday, I was out of it for most of the day with an upset stomach. I blame that on the Red Bull I had prior to going dancing since I did not drink at the club. Gotta do this again.

This is the beginning of my new blog. For those of you who don't know me I am a 63 year old retired shift foreman from the oil fields of Lubbock. I am unusual for a West Texas male in that I am a Democrat, a liberal, a humanist, and not a racist.
